Colony is a Proven Name in Carrollton
Colony was founded in 1977 by Larry Everett. This has been a family operation throughout the years: Larry's wife Kathy joined the business in 1985, and later their children became part of the company too. Every project comes back to a few key values: Integrity, Teamwork, and Accountability, but perhaps most important is simply Excellence. As we like to put it, "We don't do average, we do awesome."

Carrollton Heating Services
It’s important to have reliable heating equipment as part of your HVAC system in Carrollton, even if places like Northside Place and Oak Hills rarely get truly cold. In Texas, that heater probably won’t work as hard as your air conditioner does, but it’s equally vital and needs to be ready for duty.
After all, you never know when a cold front will move through and cover Carrollton in ice. Be confident your heater will keep out the cold this winter by calling Colony.
Furnace Maintenance
There are often one or two stretches each winter when particularly cold weather arrives, and heaters and furnaces in Carrollton are put to the test. Start with a maintenance visit from Colony to make sure everything is clean and in working order before that happens.

See What We Can RepairAC Replacement
Paying for one repair after the next on an old AC unit gets expensive quickly. Upgrading to a new one means a cooler, more comfortable home and gradual offset of the upfront cost through energy savings.
Replace Your ACHeat Pumps and Ductless Options
Colony also offers dual heating and cooling options that are more energy efficient than standard furnace or AC systems. Both heat pumps and ductless mini-splits can heat and cool your home and are particularly effective in the Texas climate, though the two systems have some distinct differences:
- Heat Pumps: hooked up to your central air system in place of furnace and AC equipment. Their efficiency comes from transferring heat rather than generating it. In winter they draw heat into your home, and in summer they draw heat from inside your home and release it outdoors.
- Ductless Mini-Splits: operate on the same basic principle as heat pumps, but don't need ductwork. Multiple indoor units connect to one outdoor unit, making them ideal for temperature zoning your home or cooling spaces like garages and additions that aren't connected to central ductwork.
Improve Your Indoor Air Quality with Colony
Breathing dirty air all day and all night while you sleep can affect your health in various ways. Cold-like symptoms when you aren't actually sick, or unusual dust on tables and counters, are both warning signs. Often the fix is easy: upgraded air filters, or a whole-home humidifier for those dry Texas winters.
Carrollton’s HVAC Challenges
Colony has been serving Carrollton and the rest of DFW with HVAC services for decades. In this time, we have gotten used to HVAC challenges that frequently impact Carrollton homes.
Shorter AC Lifespans
The Texas heat is no joke, with most summer months easily reaching 90+ degrees, according to the National Weather Service. This prolonged period of extreme temperatures can wear down your AC over time, even shortening its lifespan. An AC should typically last 15 to 20 years, but heat in this part of the world can lower that lifespan.
Pest Nests in Heaters
Got a pest problem in your attic? They can chew through low-voltage wires and build nests inside burner compartments during the warmer months. This leaves your heater useless when the cold kicks in.
More Humidity, More Mold
Carrollton’s high humidity can cause condensation in your home and even lead to mold growth. This can appear in dark, moist spaces and quickly spread in the air. Installing a dehumidifier or a high-efficiency air filter can lower the likelihood of this happening.

In many cases, the same day. If no one is available to answer, our on-call technician will get back to you right away.
What types of HVAC service do you provide?
We provide maintenance, replacement, and repair services for furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ductless units. We also offer indoor air quality services as well as a planned maintenance program.
How often should I schedule HVAC maintenance for my home in Carrollton?
Twice per year: once in spring before summer heat, and again in fall before you need your furnace.
Do you have any financing options available for my HVAC project?
Yes, through Wells Fargo for qualified customers, with a quick online application.
What heating systems can Colony service?
Our technicians service heat pumps, furnaces, and ductless heaters. Whether you need furnace installation, heater repair, or heater replacement in Carrollton, our team can help you keep your home comfortable when temperatures drop.
Why does my heater take so long to turn on?
The root causes vary depending on heating system type. If your heater is slow to start, it is worth having the system checked before colder weather arrives. Colony can identify the problem and recommend the appropriate heater repair.
I can't decide if I should repair or replace my air conditioner. What should I do?
There are pros and cons either way: repairing saves money short-term but may mean more repairs soon, while a new unit costs more upfront but offers reliable performance. Call Colony at 972.591.0293 for trustworthy guidance and straightforward answers.
How long will an air conditioner or furnace last in Carrollton?
Up to 20 years if cared for properly. Your AC will likely age faster than your furnace since it works harder in this climate.
How much will HVAC repair in Carrollton cost?
Costs vary widely. A simple thermostat fix might be under $200, while a failed blower motor can run $600 to $2,000 and a compressor replacement can cost $4,000 or more. Take a look at our pricing guide for a more detailed breakdown
