With these crazy temperature swings from extreme heat to chilling cold, it’s to be expected that your home’s HVAC systems may struggle to keep up. At Colony, we understand the strain Little Elm weather puts on them and are here to get them working again.
Lewisville Lake Humidity
Living in Little Elm means easy access to Lewisville Lake. As nice as this is, the lake brings higher humidity to Little Elm neighborhoods like Sunrise Bay and South Paloma Creek. As a result, algae buildup is quite common. This can easily clog your drains and leave the water to ruin your walls.
Severe Winter Freezes
When Little Elm gets the occasional winter storm, it can wreak havoc on your HVAC systems. Storms bringing a wintery sleet can cover heat pumps in ice, leaving them unable to properly heat your home.
Allergens Find a Way Inside
Seasonal allergies are common in Little Elm. Windy days easily carry ragweed, oak, cedar, and fall elm pollens onto your clothes and into your home. Even when inside, you’re not safe from allergies.
Choose the Best Air Quality Services in Little Elm
Indoor air quality should be a top priority for every homeowner in Little Elm. After all, you spend more time in your home than anywhere else, so the air you breathe has a real impact on your health. Dirty air filled with dust, pollen, and other particles can cause coughing, watery eyes, and congestion.
At Colony, we offer a number of services aimed at improving air quality for Little Elm homeowners, from better air filters to an air scrubber or electronic air cleaner.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Colony service all types of heating systems?
We have ample experience with ductless heaters, heat pumps, and furnaces. Call our technicians for heating system repair or replacement in Little Elm.
Do you offer emergency HVAC repairs?
Yes. Our trucks are well-stocked with the tools and parts needed to complete most repairs in one visit, any time day or night.
Are your technicians licensed to work on HVAC projects in Little Elm?
Absolutely, all of our technicians are certified and most are also NATE-certified, the HVAC industry's most respected independent certification.
How do I know if my AC needs repairs or a full replacement?
Frequent breakdowns and high energy bills are two signs your AC needs replacing. Also, if your system is over a decade old, it might be time to consider a new one.
Should I have my air conditioner serviced before summer arrives?
Yes, it's a great idea to have AC maintenance performed before the summer heat arrives, since Texas systems have to work hard.
How can I reduce my energy bills in the summer?
Have your AC serviced before summer and change the air filter regularly. During a particularly hot stretch, bump up your thermostat settings slightly so the system doesn't have to work as hard.
How long does an HVAC installation typically take in Little Elm?
Most residential installations are completed in a day, though complicating factors like ductwork repairs could take longer.
Why is my furnace blowing cold air?
You may have a pilot light or igniter issue, a dirty air filter restricting airflow, or a faulty thermostat. If the burner flame is burning any color other than blue, your furnace may be emitting carbon monoxide. If that's the case, leave your home immediately and call emergency services.
How much will Little Elm AC repairs cost?
Cost depends on parts and labor. Basic repairs, like thermostat problems, can cost under $200; larger jobs like replacing a compressor can run $4,000 or more.
What should I check before calling your heating and cooling company?
Confirm that your thermostat is set correctly, and check your air filter's condition. Replace it if it looks dirty and see if that improves performance.
